General Information Of Lakhipur College

There are various committees viz Admission committee. Examination committee etc headed by conveners to advise the principal in the matter of admission, examination etc. respectively in the college.

Students seeking admission into 1st year will have to plant a sapling each at his / her college or home and shall give photograph of the same to the college. The student has to nurse the sapling and while seeking admission into 2 year shall have to give photograph of the same tree that was planted during previous year. A scrutiny committee shall he constituted comprising teachers from Biology background who shall examine the photographs and will assess the genuineness of the photographs and growth of the plant. Only on receipt of recommendation from the committee. the student can avail 2nd year fee waiver. This will be effective from the session 2018 (applicable to those who are benefitted under the scheme during 2017 session). Students availing 2nd year waiver benefit during the current year will also have to plant a sapling and nourish it and submit photograph of the same while availing fee waiver benefit subsequently.

A student should attend a minimum of 75% of the total classes held in the college Students attending less than 75% but more than 60% of the total classes held in the college will be treated as non-collegiate and they will have to pay non-collegiate fees to be determined by the Gauhati University authority. Students attending less than 60% of the total classes held in the college will be treated as Dis-collegiate and such students will he debarred from appearing in any final examination.
